The Sessions Hearing for Attorney General

On Tuesday, January 10th, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a confirmation hearing for the position of U.S. Attorney General. Committee members should leave no stone unturned when questioning Senator Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III of Alabama, President-elect Trump’s nominee for the position of attorney general.

Question must be asked of and answered by Jeff Sessions if the Senate members and the American people are to be fully informed of how the nominee is to serve as the nation’s highest law enforcement officer.

The attorney general must be an individual who will steadfastly enforce the U.S. Constitution and protect the civil rights and liberties of all Americans equally.

Subjects on which questions must focus include:

  • police and criminal justice reform
  • voting rights
  • immigrants’ and Muslims’ rights
  • abortion rights
  • racial justice
  • LGBT rights
  • torture

For detailed information on the positions and statements made by Jeff Sessions over his long career, go to the  Sessions’ Memo .
