In partnership with the Delaware Humanities Forum, the Lewes Library is hosting, “Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle,” a series of four powerful documentaries that include dramatic scenes of incidents in the 150-year effort to achieve equal rights for all.
The monthly meeting of Delaware Citizens Opposed to the Death Penalty (DCODP) will take place at the Pacem in Terris office at Wilmington Friends Meetinghouse (401 N. West Street, 19801) at 5:30.
Meetings are always the fourth Monday of the month.
Led by Dr. James E. Martin, UD professor emeritus of Black American Studies, this discussion will open with a viewing of the 2007 documentary, ‘A Dream Deferred: Remembering the 1968 Occupation.'
This event is part of the 2015 Pacem in Terris Winter Film & Discussion Series. The topic is mass incarceration and the New Jim Crow.
The evening will feature a screening of the documentary Broken on All Sides.
