This FREE conference is meant to galvanize everyday Delawareans to realize that the power to change Delaware is their hands. Keynote will feature Dr. Barbara Love, who will speak on Liberatory Consciousness. Workshops will offer insight on how and where to get involved on issues in education, criminal justice reform, fair policing, and economic justice.

"Quality Schools for Our Children"

A panel of local  leaders will provide insight on how to build partnerships to dismantle de-facto and de-jure racism within Delaware’s education system.  The goal of the panel is to spur conversation on potential  strategies that can be implemented to advance inter-agency collaboration to:

  • Help eradicate the  school-to-prison pipeline

  • Understand how student-based funding can help decrease disparities and increase equity

  • Use the arts to help close the opportunity gaps and build community hope

  • Identify non-punitive research- based strategies to improve student behavior and school climate,

  • Adopt a two-generational approach to increase college and career readiness..

"Organizing for Change: ACLU Campaign for Smart Justice"

The mission of the ACLU Campaign for Smart Justice is to cut the U.S. prison and jail population in half by using a 50 state strategy of advocacy, litigation and public education.
