The ACLU of Delaware is excited to introduce our newest team member, Rachael Mead!
Rachael joined the ACLU of Delaware in May 2022 as a Development Strategist. Originally from Florida, she has spent the past five years at the Delaware Historical Society, most recently as their Donor and Grants Manager. She brings a background in grant writing and fundraising to the organization, as well as a unique humanities perspective.
She is passionate about LGBTQ+ rights and ensuring access to reproductive healthcare. Rachael is excited to be making a bigger positive impact on the Delaware community by contributing to the growth of ACLU-DE. Rachael holds bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Classics from the University of Florida, and when she’s not strategizing our next grant, you can find her reading, hiking, and camping.

"I’m extremely excited to be joining such a well-regarded organization. I have admired and appreciated the work the ACLU does for a long time, and could not be more thrilled to now be part of the team making that effort possible. My passion for social justice got its start through volunteer work as a teenager. For many years I volunteered with an organization called Camp S.K.A.M.P., a summer camp for children with physical disabilities. Participating as a teenager and while in college, it was an enlightening experience in learning that not all children have the same access and start in life- whether that is physical, educational, financial, or any number of other factors. That experience continues to inspire me to work harder to preserve our civil liberties and advance civil rights."
