The nomination period for the 2020 Kandler Awards is now closed. Thank you to everyone who nominated their favorite civil liberties heroes! Stay tuned for the announcement on who will be reciving the awards this year on our event page here.
The ACLU of Delaware is excited to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the 35th annual Kandler Memorial Awards. Each year, we remember Gerry Kandler, former president of the ACLU of Delaware, and honor the work of members of the community who exemplify his tireless commitment to the defense of all Delawareans’ civil liberties.
Please consider nominating someone you believe has “made an indelible mark on our community as an advocate and defender of civil liberties.” This year, we’d like to give the opportunity for recognition to up and coming leaders in the fight for civil liberties. If you know of a rising star advocate, nominate them as well.
Submissions should include the candidate’s name, biography, and a brief explanation of why the candidate should be considered.
Nominations are open to the public. All nominations should be submitted by July 15th:
- Email to: Morgan Keller, Communications Manager at [email protected] (preferred)
- Or mail to: Morgan Keller ℅ ACLU of Delaware, 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 706, Wilmington, DE 19801
We look forward to seeing your submissions!
Save the Date: Out of an abundance of caution and a sincere regard for the safety and well-being of our supporters, we’ve made the decision to host this year’s Kandler Celebration virtually. Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 7 p.m.
We may not be able to celebrate in-person this year, but we’re still going to make it fun! More information and a formal invitation to follow in the coming months.
