The ACLU of Delaware is currently seeking candidates for the following volunteer and internship opportunities:

Intake Volunteer

We’re searching for an intake volunteer to help review legal claims and assist the Director of Legal Intake in determining which claims are a fit for the ACLU of Delaware. Ideally, the intake volunteer will be able to donate about 6 hours (divided between 2-3 days) per week on Mondays and Wednesdays or Thursdays. For more information, please email Suchi Iyengar, Director of Legal Intake, at [email protected].

Campaign for Smart Justice Intern or Volunteer

The ACLU's Campaign for Smart Justice is seeking a volunteer or intern to assist the Campaign's legislative efforts. The intern is needed beginning in November, 2019, through May, 2020 for 8-10 hours per week (negotiable).

The volunteer/intern will assist the Smart Justice team in researching public policy in Delaware and other states, drafting short papers with policy recommendations, drafting letters to legislators, maintaining a list of legislators and their “constituent coffee” dates, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and planning events to discuss bills and educate the public about the Campaign for Smart Justice.

The volunteer/intern is encouraged to come into the ACLU-DE office, located in Wilmington, if possible. However, this work can be done remotely for those located outside of Wilmington. This internship/volunteer position is unpaid.

If you are interested, please send your resume and a statement of interest to Erica Marshall, Manager, Campaign for Smart Justice, at [email protected]. Please also feel free to reach out if you have questions about the position. We look forward to working with you!
