Warrants are supposed to be narrow, specific, and based on probable cause. Reverse warrants are the opposite.
Reverse warrants are a controversial and invasive police tactic that allows the government to do widespread surveillance on everyone within a geographic area and/or timeframe without individual's consent — a blatant violation of our Fourth Amendment right.
With the incoming administration's escalating threats and President-elect Trump's pledge to immediately enact policies that target already vulnerable communities upon taking office, the use of reverse warrants is about to become much more relevant tool amidst growing attacks on our civil rights and liberties.
Join us on Thursday, February 6 from 12 - 1 p.m. for a critical discussion on the future of reverse warrants, their potential impact on civil liberties, and the safeguards we’ve already implemented to protect Delaware residents and those seeking services in our state.
