April is Second Chances Month and now is your opportunity to join the fight for a clean slate for all Delawareans! Everyone deserves a shot at redemption and a fair opportunity to work, have a safe home, take care of their families, and contribute to their community.
Help us kick off this year’s Second Chances Month with a lobby day and legislator lunch on Tuesday, April 4, beginning at 9 a.m at Legislative Hall in Dover. We need your help encouraging legislators to support reforms that will expand expungement eligibility and accessibility. True justice reform does not stop with ending mass incarceration — we must also fight to ensure that all justice-involved individuals have the opportunity for a real second chance.
To participate in legislator meetings beginning at 9 a.m., you must register in advance and attend a VIRTUAL training session.
- Virtual training session: Monday, April 3, 6 p.m. VIRTUAL via Zoom
Following legislator meetings, Delaware Center for Justice will be hosting a legislator lunch catered by Big Daddy's Soul Food. Lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. and offer the opportunity to continue conversations with elected officials about Delaware's expungement policies and the needed next steps to ensure equitable access to second chances.
