In 2022, the ACLU of Delaware was proud to defend civil rights and civil liberties alongside our supporters at every turn. From an unprecedented attack on reproductive freedom, to a wave of voter suppression efforts, we showed up. We do this work because we believe “We the People” means all of us, and we are committed to continuing the fight for liberty and justice for all Delawareans- especially for our most vulnerable populations.
With election season behind us, we now look forward to the start of the 2023 legislative session more hopeful than ever. In the legislature, we will continue our push for a statewide right to representation in eviction proceedings, as the housing crisis continues to mount in Delaware. Our Campaign for Smart Justice will prioritize significant reform of our probation system, as it is one of the greatest drivers of mass incarceration in our state. With every renewed attack on abortion rights, we also renew our commitment to ensuring Delaware remain a safe haven for access to affordable care. And this is only a preview of what 2023 holds.
Join us on Monday January 23 at 6:00 pm for a virtual public briefing on our 2023 legislative priorities. This sneak peek will provide insight into the issues and bills we will be working on this year, and how you can best support our work in:
- Education Equity
- Economic Justice
- Immigrants’ Rights
- Justice Reform
- Reproductive Freedom
By holding those in power accountable, and with support from Delawareans like you, we're well on our way to protecting and expanding Delawareans' civil liberties. Thank you for sticking with us in 2022; we’re going to need you more than ever in 2023.
This event will be held virtually via Zoom. Registration is required.
