The Present and Future of Probation in DE

January 25, 2024 @ 6:00 pm

Delaware’s probation system is driving incarceration rates, and not by new crimes, but minor probation violations. Instead of probation focusing on the rehabilitation and support of returning citizens, it works more like a revolving prison door for those caught in a broken system.

Join us on Thursday, January 25 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Lewes Public Library or virtually to learn more about navigating Delaware's broken probation system directly from individuals with lived experiences. This conversation will provide insight into the challenges people on probation and their families face after incarceration, and the solutions needed to fix Delaware's broken probation system like SB 4— new legislation that aims to eliminate systemic barriers that prevent those recently released from prison from successfully rejoining society.

Registration is encouraged. This event is hosted by the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice.
